 Amman, Jordan — Pakistan’s national jiu-jitsu team made the country proud at the 2025 Asian Jiu-Jitsu Championship, returning home with an impressive six medals, including a coveted gold. The prestigious event, held in Amman, drew more than 800 athletes from 27 countries, showcasing the region’s finest martial arts talent.


Bano Kousar Secures Gold in Women’s 48kg Category

The highlight of Pakistan’s campaign was Bano Kousar’s remarkable victory in the women’s 48-kilogram contact ju-jitsu division. Kousar delivered a powerful performance, defeating India’s Richa Sharma in a closely contested final. Her gold medal marks a major milestone for Pakistani female athletes on the Asian martial arts stage and has been hailed as a breakthrough moment for the sport in the country.




Silver Medals for Duo and Show Men’s Teams

Pakistan’s medal tally also included two silver medals, both earned in the U21 Duo and Show Men events. The dynamic pair of Muhammad Yousuf and Umar Yaseen showcased their talent by advancing to the finals after overcoming Vietnam in the semifinals. Despite a spirited performance, they narrowly fell short against Thailand, securing second place. The duo’s success builds on their previous triumph, having won gold in the U18 category at the 2024 championship.

Pakistan’s strong showing was further underlined by three bronze medals. The team of M. Ali Rashid and M. Yousuf Ali claimed bronze in the Duo and Show Men category, while Isra Waseem and Kainat Arif earned bronze in the Duo and Show Women events. Reacting to the team’s success, Khalil Ahmed Khan, Chairman of the Pakistan Jiu-Jitsu Federation, praised the athletes and support staff. “This is a proud moment for Pakistan. Khan highlighted the dedication, hard work, and resilience that fueled the team’s impressive run at the championship.
